They look like battle hardened supper troops to me, I’d hate to run up against them.
The FR Putin supporters here are going to accuse Ukraine of staging those photo ops, with older Ukrainians playing the roles of Russian soldiers. ;)
That breaks my heart. Those men have already lived through horrors we will never know and have earned the right to peaceful end years.

Old men and boys and many women were pressed into service by the Soviet Union during WWII. That was to defeat Hitler. As Americans, we should honor their sacrifice. But, this mobilization is just ridiculous.
The blue and white striped shirt looks like the one the Russian navy has used for years. Are these guys navy or army? They are in Crimea, right?
What horrors have they lived through? They look like 55 year old guys from the warehouse.
