Belarusians, like the Ukrainians and Russians, are just another different variety of Russian.

But remember, there’s a lot of Americans that have one kind or another of Russian ancestry.

My great grandfather was born it what is modern day Ukraine in the middle of the 19th century. The Birth records say Russia. There are a lot of Germans who came to America after moving to Russia.

Actually, both Belorussian and Ukrainian are closer to Polish than to Russian!
At least their vocabulary contains a lot more Polish words than Russian.
BTW, there is a movement trying to re-create the former Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth.
Basically reuniting Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine and Belarus. (could also include parts of Western Russia!)
From historical point of view, this is a lot more fitting than Putin’s lame tries to re-create Soviet Union.
