I'm driving several hours this weekend, to attend Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg, TX. Does that count? lol
If I could afford it, I'd buy a house in the Hill Country, probably on the Pedernales. It's merely a dream: kids and grandkids all live within 30 minutes, and I start a new job on Monday, hopefully my last rodeo, too.
I was thinking Tahiti, because it will inspire me to paint like Gaugin.
The defining change came for me after college, when I entered active duty. Being an officer on active duty woke me up, to put it mildly: Platoon Leader, XO, Battalion Staff Officer, any position where you are responsible for the people who work for you will definitely wake you up.
When I got back to the States, I was a changed man, and for the better.

You obviously recovered from the teen ignorance. Many do. I like to think I did. I suspect that most Democrats, however, maintain that ignorance and proudly display it whenever any “green”, economic, criminal , etc. topics arise.
