Fourth leak found on Nord Stream pipelines, Swedish coastguard says

Sweden's coastguard said on Thursday it had discovered a fourth gas leak on the damaged Nord Stream pipelines earlier this week, after ruptures first reported on Monday sent gas spewing into the Baltic Sea.

The European Union suspects sabotage was behind the leaks on the subsea Russian pipelines to Europe, and has promised a "robust" response to any intentional disruption of its energy infrastructure.

The leak reported on Thursday is the second one found in Swedish waters, while two others were discovered in Danish waters.

Would anyone consider that it was no kind of governmental entity at all, but a well financed “private venture “?

“Low quality Russian steel, low quality paint, shoddy assembly, shoddy coating by inebriated steel workers and painters.”

So who built it, or the various parts of it? My guess is that there was heavy Western (German) involvement from start to finish.

--- "A lot of people are having a hard time grasping the concept that USA is the bad guy here."

Not the USA, as a whole. Certainly the MIC and "intelligence" folks, I should think. Given we comprise 4 percent of the world's population and about fifty percent of the world's expenditure on war materials....

Consider all the wars won by the West led by the "deep state" and MIC since 1970....

Now consider all the wars begun and mostly lost by the West since 1970. Vietnam. Afghanistan. Iraq, Libya. Syria. Sudan. Somalia. Yemen. One might consider a new term, the unintelligence community.

But that would be a Nuland-ism, an Obama-Biden factoid and an indictment of the fattened MIC under these last decades, which cannot be hidden by faux-exhortations to "patriotism."

Too many players who benefit or forward their goals by the loss of this supply line to be certain it's the US.

No they don't. Only dopey Joe benefits. Plus he said he would do it. Why are people having difficulty accepting the obvious?

“The leak reported on Thursday is the second one found in Swedish waters, while two others were discovered in Danish waters.”

I thought the prior reporting was the leaks were just outside Danish territorial waters. Calling an EEZ “Danish waters” would not be accurate and would be inconsistent with how non-territorial waters have been described for the many decades since the advent of the EEZ concept.

Poor construction and climate change raising the sea levels a foot....

Bet the increased flow too much.

Fair point. My post should have ended in a question mark.

Let me push the point (and my luck) just a little harder.

Let's say 90% of the steel, paint and workmanship were high quality well inspected German workmanship.

Would a failure in the 10% done by Russians with Russian steel and supplies to the very best vodka fueled standards cause the pipeline to fail?

Excess pressure causes one rupture, not four of them. As soon as you get one rupture, pressure is relieved. It takes an intentional human act or some sort of underwater earthquake to cause 4 ruptures. I haven’t heard about an earthquake.

Ah! a very interesting “follow the money” theory. At least it is plausible.

Yeah, nice diversion in your reply. I’ll accept that. No other country or “actor” stands to gain from this. Before you say something embarrassing, I am a vet, had a very high security clearance, worked in intelligence, worked about the spooks, and have been a great supporter on my country. But I have never seen anything as plain as day as this run up to the war, and how the US manipulated and backed Russia into a corner to make them move into Ukraine. And how the WH has been careful about manipulating the public on this. It is a highly critical action and has severe consequences. But the WH and the Media is keeping the US population entire focused on trump, and investigations, and lawsuits. Anything to keep our eyes off this war and what is really going on. So yes, we do know. And yes, we are the only ones who gain from this. And yes it gives us big control over Europe. And yes we are gaining financially over the war and the control of Europe, and our gaining of the dollar over the Pound and the Euro. It’s all about financial control.

Only dopey Joe benefits.

I assume by 'Only dopey Joe' you mean 'Only China' benefits by sowing dissent between Europe, Russia, and America, and possibly provoking a war destroying the West.

Remember the Maine?

We were absolutely certain Spain was responsible. Absolutely certain. Until it was much later found that the steel around the hole was bent outwards from an internal explosion.

No matter, we won the Spanish American War.

That being said, I have some slight experience with spooks.

Very capable. Of anything. Anything.

But I must disagree with your assessment that ONLY the US stands to gain from the destruction of the West and the elimination of billions of Europeans, Russians, North Americans, and by starvation, most Africans, South Asians and Latin Americans.

Note that I left China off that list. A wide open uncontested world for them to settle and exploit as soon as the radiation dies down a bit. But they are patient, long horizon, planners.

"Mikhail Krutikhin, an energy analyst from the RusEnergy consultancy, told DW that initial evidence clearly pointed to sabotage...If the explosion originated inside the pipe, "then it was Gazprom," adding the Russian energy giant "could easily send something technicians call a pig — a robot that goes inside the pipeline.""
