Well the annexation is a done deal now. As well any further negotiations about them. They’re now Russia.
But of course political leaders and media will be peevd over this but nothing they can actually do about it.

Under the 23 June 1995 Federal Law No 931, conscripts are currently prohibited from serving outside the territory of the Russian Federation under any circumstances.
Conscripts cannot even participate in peace-keeping missions. This law was deliberately specifically to protect conscripts, a sensitive subject in Russia after the bitter experiences of the Soviet-Afghan War (1979-89) and First Chechen War (1994-1996).
The only service personnel legally permitted to deploy outside the territory of the Russian Federation are the professional officer and warrant officer classes, and the so-called kontraktniki (‘contract soldiers’) who sign three year contracts.
Is Putin hoping the referendums will just be blindly accepted by the world? Everyone will say “that’s that then”? Hostilities will end and these conscripts chumps can ‘police’ the newly Russian areas until things calm down?
The son of a Russian Duma MP, who frequently makes anti-western statements, left the country on a flight to Istanbul last Saturday. The MP escorted his son to airport to ensure he would be let out of country.
Russians are also fleeing to Mongolia to evade Ukraine mobilization saying: “If other countries would attack Russia, we would fight for our country. But why are we going to Ukraine? For what?”

At least the intelligent mobilized Russian conscript surrendering & immigrating Russians won’t die.
