I was wondering why gas shot up 50 cents a gallon overnight in California. Yep.

In California 1.18 of every gallon is tax now. We are paying about $6 per gallon around here.

We are not into the winter fuel change and often gas prices go down after a holiday weekend.

So what caused the 50 cent increase/gal in many parts of California?
