In years past I recall several cat 3 or less per year hitting the mainland USA. Now we get one or two per year. May be stronger but a cat 2 or 3 is probably just as damaging as one cat 5. And the multiple storms cover a wider geographic area so the repair costs are much higher.

That’s amusing as all get-out: just about nobody denies ‘climate change’. Fifteen thousand years ago the neighborhood I grew up in was underneath a monster glacier. Then the climate changed.
As usual, the lefties and enviro-extremists get away with playing game with the language - basically ‘climate change denial’ means that you don’t agree with somebody about everything they say about how much the climate is changing, how fast the climate is changing, and how responsible (if at all) humans are in changing it. That covers a lot of ground, but you better agree with them completely, or your ‘denial’ will get you a free trip to the climate gulag.
Climate change = weather.
