China's military has suggested its advanced J-20 twin-seat fighter jets might be used in conjunction with drones to increase firepower.
The twin-seat J-20s can carry out coordinated reconnaissance, coordinated strikes, and coordinated command missions when coupled with drones, South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on Sunday, quoting a Chinese military magazine.
"The purpose of building such a twin-seat J-20 is not to treat it simply as a trainer, its major role then will almost certainly be to coordinate with drones," said Yang Wei, the chief designer of the aircraft, in an article published in Ordnance Industry Science Technology.

Apparently Drones are the next game-changer, after tanks, as Iranian drones now operated by Russia has stopped the Ukrainians DEAD, even given their vaunted ‘Million Man March’ (to Moscow, I guess).
It’s called Loyal Wingman in the USAF
Wilsbach qualified his comments by saying that the Air Force has “had a limited opportunity to assess it [the J-20], but it seems ok.” He added that after “some recent close engagements we had with our 5th gen jets and some of their J-20s” in the Pacific region, the Air Force had “learned a lot from that,” but that “it is nothing frankly that I would worry too much about.”

More descriptive
A swarm is a large number of machines with minor capabilities that are coordinated into a group that has more capability as a group than they have as individuals. The thing to do is find out how the group is coordinated and disrupt that. It could be radio, ultrasound or even lasers. Disrupt the coordination and control and the swarm is reduced to uselessness.
Eventually we will see these in Ukraine. Russia would have the exact same right to these as Zelensky does in using NATO’s.

Judging by Zelensky’s words and actions, I’d say the Iranian drones are fully operational against his NATO forces, and are VERY EFFECTIVE.
A fully autonomous drone swarm is a different level of technology altogether. It is a networked entity that is not controlled by human operators at all. Operated by artificial intelligence (AI), it can continue its mission, even if loses some drones during its mission.

That video will cause a few heart attacks at night. And a few wrecks!
Agreed. That, to me, is rather surprising. I just assumed NATO military tech would have completely outclassed any of the Iranian armaments.
“I just assumed NATO military tech would have completely outclassed any of the Iranian armaments.”
So did the rest of the country, including the leadership, of BOTH parties. They got ARROGANT and full of HATRED towards Russia and, to to a lesser extent (regarding hatred) towards China.
In other words they literally FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL, and while Russia and China spent the past 30 years MODERNIZING, using Western technology (often including Westerners themselves), to push them Forward, and forward to the point where even a second-rate country, Iran, is now able to pulverize our hardware with their munitions.
...and that is one of the main reasons that I’m anti-war against Russia and China. It’s not 1990 anymore, we’re not picking fights with the Third World anymore, and we just may not do quite as well as we may think.
We have A LOT of work to do on the military end (starting with the doubling of the size of our Navy and getting rid of the wokeness) if we want to again be a serious player militarily, compared to the rest of the world...and so far, at least, I see ZERO effort in that direction.
Hopefully that changes.
That “Wokness” will make all the difference. They are just getting started.
