Soviet military strategy rarely relied on the welfare of their troops. If they have more men than the Ukrainians can put bullets into, they win. Putin may not know how many soldiers it will take, but he does know how many he could use.

I’m through debating the Neocons regarding who’s going to win this war (assuming that the Neocons don’t go nuclear).
Sure, this propaganda will get help them and their friends more money, which like prior wars since WW2, seems to be their goal.
In any case, the Neocons will have to be taught another lesson...since they never seem to learn from previous lessons (such as Syria and Egypt).

Not quite so. Russia has substantial forces near Ukrainian border that were being reorganized and retrained all along. These forces can be used at any moment and the newly mobilized can replace them as the reserve.
In fact, it seems likely that this is already happening — there were a couple of Telegram reports about Russia going on counter-offensive near Liman, this would mean fresh forces arrived.

When properly motivated and led Slavs are excellent fighters. When not they are very poor. Advantage Ukraine.
Presuming Putin survives the casualties of this war will easily be in the millions.
All men are excellent fighters. It is about officer corps and existed leadership and training.

That’s a good point. The Soviets were poorly led when Nazi Germany first invaded. And so they lost battle after battle. Then Georgy Zhukov appeared on the scene.
Putin might find himself another Zhukov. But he’s gonna have trouble with the motivation part.
They should arrive to the front late November. They will have to deal with the freeze that comes after October rains. Just in time for onset of winter. As Hitler and Napoleon found out, Russia sucks in the winter.
Don’t need to train or support them when you have nukes CNN.
The draftees will not be used in battle, but will take the places of previously trained Russian soldiers say along the Finnish border and in Siberia.
One thing i have noticed about about western-state-corporate media propaganda on this war (and which is further simplified and amplified by certain FR posters) they are all very reactionary and reductionist - their comments and propaganda are only in reaction to events and then in the most simple of ways.

The leadership is not the same as n WWII. Russia has already spent its wad on their class A troops and heavy weapons. Unlike Stalin, Putin has no lend lease from the USA and England nor has he the political propaganda to deprive the Nazis out of the fatherland. This is Russians being the invaders and committing war crimes.
