Access into and out of the SW FL damaged area is crippled. Flooding from the Myakka and Peace Rivers has closed a substantial portion of I-75 and a smaller section of Hwy 41. May take days for the flooding to recede. These are two major access points around North Port, Port Charlotte, and Punta Gorda. This also means no access

While this will reduce the number of looky-loos, it is crippling access for relief supplies and ability of residents to exit the zone. Gasoline for generators is in short supply within the zone.

Now there is breaking news of a levee breach in the North Port area.

Wow what a disaster I heard the Cajun Navy is there along with some helicopters,about the only way to resuce a lot of standed people.

Hoping people continue to be very patient as they're not yet a week out from the Hurricane yet. Undeniable most are doing everything they can to get to people. It's stunning how quickly they have so many roads unblocked. Power is going to take some time no doubt in the worst areas.

I'm impressed how this has been handled including the people helping each other.
