If Putin’s strategy is to label those regions ‘Russia’ as soon as he can and claim Ukraine and their allies are try to annex Russian territory …and then threaten to retaliate with nukes - it will mean absolutely ZERO to Ukraine or to the US. Military action will continue until the invaders have been ejected from occupied territories.

“Everyone” includes all of Russia’s neighbors, and the rest of Europe. You are obsessed with American politics. This is about a lot of other things that are not tied up in American politics.

I suggest you address yourself to the actual Ukrainians.
What would you tell them?

You have got the Russian “voice” down pat.
Very good, well done.
Unfortunately thats (one reason) why nobody likes Russians.

A resource grab in other words.

Thats what was behind this from the beginning. A very simple, old fashioned colonialist impulse. But it got, successively, complicated by pushback. Sunk cost fallacies drove even more risky and costly moves, becoming even greater sunk costs.

Thats the political problem with sunk costs - walking away and admitting failure is personally costly to the leadership, even if it is rational with respect to the interests of the whole.

That brings us to the principal agent problem, my favorite.

If they vote to not join Russia, will Russia leave?

The sham is the “referendum” in Kosovo that wasn’t even a referendum but a hand vote jumped on by the west and passed off as being legitimate.

There have been truly sham referendums held in various parts of the world that even Eurotrash media won’t call “sham.”

It’s transparently obvious to the majority of the world’s countries that the same club that passes off dementia Joe as being legitimate pass off the Kosovo “referendum” as being legit while they preemptively attempt to disparage the referendum now in Ukraine.

They voted for independence before Russia went in. Should the world accept that vote? Not every civil war ends like the American one.

Do you think a “real” referendum would have them pledging allegiance to Kiev? This started with a declaration of independence before Russia went in. I’m curious to hear the other opinions about this (not being snarky)

Am I allowed to question the results of this vote or will I get banned for being an anti-democracy extremist conspiracy nut?

So you’re referring to the vote tallied for Dementia Joe?

Okay.

Good for the goose... The so called ‘defensive alliance’ went on the offense when no Nato country was threatened or attacked and illegally gave the cradle of a christian european country to mohommedans. Screw Nato. Screw the Germans in particular. Serbs are right to see the hypocrisy of western elites railing against ‘sham referenduns’

The irony is the referendums are probably more realistic and genuine and more democratic than the ridiculous electoral system in the U S that is rife with cheating and corruption..
