Our Governor is not that stupid. He has stated he does not plan on running for President in 2024. I believe him. THe only thing that might change that is if President Trump does not run and he gets so much pressure to run from the Repubs across the country he can’t fight it.
He's never pledged to not run in '24. He's also never pledged to not run if trump runs.
Every time he's asked this question, Ron DeSantis deflects that right now he's only concerned with winning his re-election as Governor.
A wise move, of course. If he said before the election that he wants to run for president, Crist would blast him with "RON DESANTIS DOES NOT WANT TO BE YOUR GOVERNOR!" attack ads.
And he's my governor as well. I voted for him in '18, I'll vote for him again in November, and God willing, I'll vote for him two years after that.
If Trump decides to NOT run, DeSantis would step up to the plate, I’m sure. If he did, he’d be the guy to beat.
