Why wouldn’t they vote to join Russia? Their own country has been shelling and bombing them for almost 9 years, cut off much of their infrastructure, and indeed shelled civilian Marketplace yesterday (killing 13, 2 children) and today.

Russia has restored their pensions, their freedom to speak Russian,to read and view Russian media.
It is absurd to see them as not wanting to join Russia - truly, no matter who you support in the Russian NATO war.

Think about it. If you were Russia and you saw how the West has gone completely woke and pussified, you’d start pushing us around and making threats also.

Of course this is typical Russophobe media designed to inflame emotions.

Putin did not say anything like what they are claiming.

Propaganda.

I don’t know whether Putin will use nuclear weapons in the Ukraine or not. I suspect that even he hasn’t made his mind up. Still, I know what he will do: he will never cease his quest to expand Russian territory. Moldova, the Balkan States, Poland, and Finland are next, and why not? Given this, neither fear nor courage saves us, to quote T.S. Elliot. It does not matter if we believe Ukraine is yet another neocon adventure, or a globalist ploy, war is coming, if only because we are not in control of Russia’s ambition. It matters not whether we wish to be involved or wish to stand aside, war is coming as surely as it was in 1914 or 1939. The readiness is all.

Nuclear war and mutual annihilation is just fine to save the most corrupt country in Europe and it’s homo-erotic dancer leader. /S

Dan Bongino was predicting this tactic on his podcast yesterday.

United States needs to go deeper in debt (already $31 Trillion) to fight Putin’s expansion goals. Why not? We can never pay any principle of the debt anyways, so what does it matter if the debt goes to 50, 75, 100 Trillion?

Awe. You are probably new to the news there. I was involved in Russia a long long time ago and still speak it fairly well.

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/776355/posts

Back in the 90s the Chechens were kidnapping young Russian children from Moscow, then videotaping themselves slowly sawing a finger off a child.
Those chechens , clearly laughing in the video, escaped to UK. Vanessa Redgrave and her pals protected them and the UK denied extradition to Russua for a trial.

The Baltics and UK have always been russophobic, despite overwhelming evidence of brutality of chechens.
The radical Chechens were almost funny in videotaping themselves so clearly and metaphorically shooting themselves in the foot. When UK organized and sent aid workers to restore power to cities that Russia had bombed...the Chechens kidnapped the men, demanded huge ransoms, then cut off their heads and posted them on poles on a highway.
No one knows if the ransoms were paid...

And actually one six year old girl, daughter of a well-known journalist in Moscow, who had been kidnapped and had fingers sawed off, wanted to tour the US with her father to speak.
But they were denied entry.
The US in those days was pretty pro-chechen as well.

And people wonder why Russia turned away from the west and made good friendships with China, Iran, etc.
Just as Serbia did after we bombed them.

A little fun history for you.

Well, I hope Russia will enjoy it when we give Ukraine missiles with a range to strike Moscow then.

That’s pretty much impossible, because to do so you would need 2/3s of the General Assembly to vote to do that, AND Russia would have to not veto it.

I’m pretty sure Russia will veto any attempt to remove their veto.

It would be easier for all the other countries to leave and then reconstitute a new UN.

“How does somebody use a nuclear weapon to defend its territory? Where do you detonate it?”

A few miles above Red Square sounds about right.

“Putin did not say anything like what they are claiming.”

The article is very clear that MEDVEDEV said it, not Putin.
