Re: "...legislation that would allow media organizations to create formal cartels to negotiate with Big Tech companies..."

I have no idea what that means.

Until I read the exact legislation, I will withhold judgment.

What an astonishing concept!

Congratulations to you two, so far you have offered the only rational replies on this thread. Everybody else cannot think beyond orange man good.

I don’t either. I looked up the bill and still don’t get it.

Can someone give the essence of the bill?

“Until I read the exact legislation, I will withhold judgment.”

Read it, S.673, and I like it for one major reason. If it alleviates the liability to false claims or misrepresentation for four years, then it might be the incentive for people to withdraw from social media outlets that have misused the first amendment for years for their personal safety literally shutting down from these overgrown parasites who make millions preying on people ignorant and/or foolish enough to provide fuel to the fire being politically dominated. No people entering info, this type of media becomes recognized for the political utilization they leech off of and will have nothing but fools and whatever is left to post on them. So they go back to becoming the blog they were and are. One that is not worth anything. Sometime they lose track of where the traps are and step in one. And in this case, this bill in conjunction with Amy Klobuchar’s past efforts like same day voter registration and not allowing a name to be pulled from the voting register when they don’t vote is an open invitation to voter fraud, could be the invitation to walk away because the blog isn’t responsible to be trusted with information handed to them. She doesn’t think things through. Ditz.

not much to it. Allows media creators to be exempt from anti trust legislation when they negotiate terms for the meta, etc to carry their content. They can band together in collective bargaining cartels. It would maybe give content providers the ability to stop the censoring of their content.

Exactly. I listened to a podcast that went over Putins speech the other day and the total fabrication by the entirety of the media was astonishing. I expect clickbait many times from Breitbart, it is their bread and butter, but this narrative creation is off the charts and involves everything nowadays.
