The reason we didn’t have a kinetic hot war with the Communist USSR is precisely because of both M.A.D., and as four separate panel’s of Soviet generals revealed to us over a period of just over a decade, they had less than a 50/50 chance of surviving a CCCP offensive to capture all of Western Europe to the West coast of France and Europe, which is what they had long planned and wargamed.
The reason the hard core Chinese Communist CCP Politburo (with an assist from Russia’s current Pacific Fleet) hasn’t erased or taken absolute totalitarian control of all East Asain and Western Pacific nations, (even if not in print for public consumption) is precisely the same > M.A.D., and knowing they would be so weakened, their own Communist totalitarian government and state would implode.
