It's funny you mention the Sharif of Mecca. With all the fuss they raise about the Balfour Declaration creating Israel out of thin air, as they put it, you never hear them fuss about the Mandate for Syria and Lebanon.

Lots of middle eastern groups got a piece of what was left of the old Ottoman Empire. Many of them large nations relative to nations in that area. Meanwhile they fuss at the Jews getting a nation about as big as tiny New Jersey. LOL
