They’ve been asking for volunteers for the last five months now. If there were willing volunteers for the “300,000” out of the reservists they would have shown up already.
No doubt some of those reservists called up at this point will call themselves volunteers for whatever they see as benefiting them in this rapidly curdling political environment.
The more significant matter is that Putin finally promised to arm and pay the LNR/DNR guys as Russian regulars. That ongoing failure was inexplicable stupidity on the part of the Russian leadership.

Agree!! Also communication between militias, chechens ,volunteers, was abysmal.
