“Confused” does not begin to describe these individuals with such a warped view of the world that they cannot even clearly identify their own reflection in a mirror. Everything is crazy house to themselves, and denial of reality is their way of coping with this monster that rages within.
An infantile tantrum transferred to what appears to be an adult human form. The child within has remained in control so long the adult or the conscience cannot emerge.
Back in 1964 a book was written by psychiatrist Eric Berne, “Games People Play”, describing Transactional Analysis. Still a valuable resource today on the intricate interactions individuals have with each other, and how the various phases of the Id, Ego and Superego vie for control of the emotional and cognitive abilities internally.
