So Russia rules the world, and any rejection of her demands leads to world destruction.

OK. Let’s assume this is true (and I am sure no one on any side thinks it is).

Then the ONLY recourse is to remove Russia and the culture from the map like what was done to Imperial Japan.

This is a tar baby made by all sides. Ukraine does not want to be part of Russia, but there are large populations of Russians that were settled there in the 30’s. Also the borders are not the same as the traditional ones.

After the domination by Soviet Russia, a lot of the other states want to have some allies for when, not if, Moscow starts marching again. That drove the Baltic States, Finland, and Sweden to forge tight ties with NATO.

So Ukraine had a choice. Defend herself or die as a political entity. They chose to fight, and in typical Russian fashion of blaming the victims for the assault. Now that there is a counteroffensive, it is “WE WILL NUKE YOU IF YOU DON”T RESPECT OUR WISHES!”

In other words, you a man who has already beat up his ex wife threatening to burn down the town unless he gets her (or part of her) back. When she fights back with her neighbor’s gun, he threatens to kill everyone.

What do you think is going to happen to that man?

“Ukraine does not want to be part of Russia”

Seems to me that parts of Ukraine do want to be part of Russia. Regardless, we’ll know in a week or so.
