Nope. Donbas has been Russian speaking and ethnic Russian for decades.

That is a temporary but serious issue. They were stupid shutting down nuke and coal plants just to outsource it to russia. But that’s teh green’s plan...ruin the west.

And Russia supported the Greens to keep Europe dependent on Russia.

“Where was Russia in 1945?”

It was a piece of another country, kind of like North Carolina.

So what language did they speak, when they were a 'piece of another country'? Soviet language? Lol

“You know, something we still yet to have...........”

There’s plenty of weapons systems that we don’t bother to develop. Usually because they aren’t actually going to make much of a difference when it comes to winning a war.

But if you need a weapon for domestic propaganda purposes to convince your population that your paper tiger military might actually stand a chance against the USA, then yeah, maybe hypersonic missiles might impress the rubes.

Belarus will be obligated to join if Russia formally declares war.
Personally I won’t be surprised to see Iran, Pakistan, and a few other SCO guys joining in. Ukraine is seen as the west they all hate..wonder if North Korea wants to play.

China has a very impressive list of allies.

WW3 would be horrific, I believe.

Ukraine was supposed to be finished in a couple of weeks. The Russkies have lost a lot. Your piece looks like it was written from Russkie propaganda.

That was according to Western/US/UK/EU/NATO propaganda-ridden media, not Putin nor the SMO. Try again.

Russia: we have moved the border over here, so now Ukraine are the invaders!!!

Sounds about right. My guess is that the West will (and should) increase its support for Ukraine in response. I'm guessing that Russian mobilization isn't going to work out that well....

That’s a good point, Russia will have some friends if they’re forced to declare war in Ukraine - the question Americans have to ask is whether this Neocon dream scenario was really worth it.

Nope. Donbas has been Russian speaking and ethnic Russian for decades.

Ireland was also many years under foreign rule. Whats clear is that the Russians are not welcome on Ukrainian soil.

Then more of them will have to die.

I cannot imagine that the Russian people will go along with mobilization over Ukraine. The country is not being invaded. There is no existential threat (to use an overused word.)

The laws that were passed were Stalinist in their tenor.

I see Putin trying to hang on by his fingertips.

What is scarier is the real potential for an internal collapse in Russia.

Donbas has been shelled and bombed for 8 years by the Ukrainian army, told they could not speak Russian in public, denied Russian tv and books, given no services...Crimea had no water until Russia went there.

Ukraine was a failed state, huge unemployment, pensions taken away. Beatings on the streets by Nazi thugs for fun.

“Any other suggestions?”

Read the articles (there are a lot of them). Also, just google Putin’s July 12, 2021 article or “manifesto.” He makes it quite clear: Ukraine can only exist as a direct or indirect part of Russia.

“Trump voters prefer peace.“

Now we are getting somewhere.
Define “peace”.
Define peace in a world filled with aggressive wickedness .
Tells was Reagan right with his peace through strength model?

And do have the luxury like many nations do, to sit on the sidelines in the face of aggressive enemies like China?

Do we want to back a nuclear super power like Russia into a corner ?
I would say heck no.
They need a face saving way to back away from their reckless Ukrainian debacle.

OMG, being forced to learn the language of the country you live in, what horror!

Define “peace”.

Peace is when you sit down, shut up, and do as you're told.
