Former SecrState in the Trump administration Mike Pompeo is planning to run for president in 2024. Though his former boss has not yet announced a run himself, it is widely believed that Trump is intending to seek a second term and stage an electoral rematch against Joe Biden.
Pompeo was speaking to veterans and supporters in Chicago this week, telling them "We've got a team in Iowa, a team in New Hampshire and South Carolina. And that's not random. We are doing the things one would do to get ready." This according to Politico.
Pompeo has been making public appearances this week, taking time to appear on Jesse Watters' Fox News show to give his view on Florida Governor DeSantis plans to send illegal aliens north to sanctuary states and cities.
"Confirmed via a hundred sources, Mike Pompeo is telling people he wants to primary Trump," Jack Posobiec of Human Events Daily said back in October 2021.
"Unlike others," Pompeo said, "if I got down an escalator, no one wll notice." He was speaking at a fundraising event for veterans leaving service and embarking on life in the private sector. $6.3 million was raised.
"We are trying to figure out if that is the next place for us to serve," he said of a potential run. "If we conclude it is, we'll go make the case to the American people of why that is. And in the end, the American people, I pray, will make a good decision about who's going to be their next leader."
Pompeo's remarks about potentially primarying his former boss came during a question and answer period with the CEO of Motorola Solutions Greg Brown.
Of Trump, Pompeo said "I'm deeply grateful" to have been hired as secretary of state, and I hope he enjoys retirement."

"I hope he enjoys retirement"
Mike, does it even remotely appear President Trump has retired?
Seriously, come on.
Wasn’t Pompeo supposed to clean up the CIA? How’d that go?
Not so good.
Oh noes! Trump is finished!
He’s way too establishment-ish for me. And didn’t he celebrate “gay pride month” in the state department?
I like Pompeo. He’s a very smart, decent guy. I’ll certainly listen to what he has to say.
He’s maneuvering for the VP slot.
I like him but at 1-2% in polls he is going to need to keep ties to Trump.
he might have to beat at DeSantis for that one.
That was my first thought when I read the post.
You earn 1st prize for saying the quiet part out loud. Well done!
I had the chance to see him in Atlanta the week before give the same speech that he gave in Chicago. He seems like a nice enough guy.
But, I don’t want the head of the CIA near the Oval Office ever again. George HW Bush gave us the new world order and the globalism rot we are living with today. I would prefer the removal of the letter agencies and the laws they have turned against us.
So, thanks. But not interested.
Pomp-boy is too close to the Deep State. I don't trust him where the rubber meets the road.
Same here.
He and Larry Elder can have a boxing match for the VP slot.
2024 National Republican Primary Poll:

Let’s see how the 2022 midterms go before we get all excited about hypotheticals.
Mike would be great as a VP, but for some reason I’m not quite comfortable with him. He recommended Gina Haspel for CIA and didn’t clean up State. He did do a superior job representing the US but I’m still a bit leery
For who? He said he hopes Trump is retired.
