Fairy tales, make believe, Santa Claus. It's a wonderful time to be so innocent and imaginative.
For them to twist that stage into sexual deviance has been most shocking to me.
I talked to an older lady not long ago who told me that one Christmas she asked for a Tonka truck. Her parents didn’t jump to the conclusion that she must really be a boy. They just got her the truck.
“I played the heck out of that thing!” She told me.
I read another story about a young woman who preferred climbing trees and going fishing with her dad to playing with dolls and having tea parties with her sisters. Her parents didn’t decide that she must really be a boy. They treated her like a girl who enjoyed different things than her sisters.
She’s now married and a mom, one who enjoys going fishing and climbing trees with her children. She’s thankful for the parents she has, who didn’t try to make her into something she’s not.
