Memos gathered by FBI show pattern of Hunter Biden mixing business affairs with hunger charity. (China)

Charitable discussions with Chinese energy giant CEFC that evolved into lucrative business deals fit classic foreign influence operation, ex-FBI intel chief says.

With his father’s eight-year tenure as Barack Obama’s vice president waning, Hunter Biden received a remarkable overture in 2015: One of China’s richest businessmen wanted to make a sizable donation to the World Food Program USA (WFP USA), which was led by the VP’s son.

WFP USA is a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to raising funds and building U.S. support for the World Food Program, the United Nations organization that fights global hunger.

But soon, memos gathered by the FBI show, the charitable discussions evolved into an expanding relationship between Hunter Biden and Chinese energy giant CEFC to include business deals that would eventually reap the Biden family millions of dollars.

“CEFC China is very interested in exploring humanitarian initiatives of mutual interest to the World Food Program USA and discussing investment opportunities with Burnham,” an email received and then forwarded by Hunter Biden in October 2015 stated. Burnham was one of the many firms through which Hunter Biden and his partners like Devon Archer scored large investments.

Joe Biden sent family and aides a series of negative articles on Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential bid, emails reveal.

The then-vice president sent his children, their spouses, his grandchildren and his chief of staff stories about Hillary’s declining popularity with black voters, an impending Justice Department investigation over her use of a private email server, and her top aide’s controversial private deals with the United Arab Emirates.

Two of the emails were sent in October 2015, in the days before Biden announced he was dropping out of the 2016 presidential race, and one in February 2016.

The president has long had barely disguised animus toward Clinton. In an interview at a hedge fund conference in 2017 he said: I never thought she was a great candidate. I thought I was a great candidate.’

The first email, sent around 6am on October 2, 2015, had the subject line ‘Supporters’, and contained a link to the political news site Real Clear Politics, republishing a Washington Post story from the day before about a dramatic drop in Hillary’s polling among black democrat voters.

The story focused on a poll from Suffolk University and USA Today which had her down 31 points among black Democrats and down nine points among white Democrats since July that year.

The story noted that ‘Clinton is down 16 points in net favorability, and [rival Bernie] Sanders is up 31.’

‘Non-whites have consistently been more supportive of Hillary Clinton than whites,’ the story said.

‘A new poll from Suffolk University and USA Today, though, suggests a big shift among African Americans that could undermine that confidence.’

The story referred to speculation at the time that Biden would drop out of the race following the death of his son in May 2015.

‘The vice president does better with blacks than Sanders, and past polls have shown that many Biden backers would go to Clinton if he were to decide not to run,’ it said.

Joe emailed the story to his sister Valerie Owens, his brother Jim, his granddaughters Finnegan and Naomi, his son Hunter, daughter Ashley, her husband Howard Krein, and his widowed daughter-in-law Hallie.

DailyMail.com obtained the email from Hunter’s abandoned laptop.

Two weeks later Joe sent another email, this time just to Hunter, with the subject ‘Mills’.

The email contained a link to a Wall Street Journal editorial on Hillary’s top aide Cheryl Mills, who the Washington Post revealed was paid to negotiate a private deal with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The comment piece was critical of the Clintons and the aide, saying the deal was a conflict of interest with the UAE, which it described as ‘a serial violator of human rights’.

‘In 2009, while Ms. Mills held the second most powerful job at State, she also represented New York University as it negotiated with officials from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE),’ the editorial said.

‘Outside of the Clintons and their staff, who else thinks it’s a good idea for senior State Department officials to be paid by private institutions to cut side deals with Middle Eastern dictatorships—or any foreign governments?’

The article referenced the Washington Post’s reporting that Mills got $330,000 in vacation and severance payments when she left the school’s payroll in May 2009, despite an NYU police against severance pay.

The article also drew attention to the tens of millions Emirati government-linked organizations have funneled to the Clinton Foundation.

Reports said Bill Clinton was paid a total $5.6million between 2011 and 2015 by Dubai company GEMS Education for speeches, and that the UAE government, its ruling Zayed family, and the Dubai Foundation each gave between $1million and $5million to the Clintons’ charity.

Four days after the email, on October 21 2015, Joe Biden announced he was dropping out of the race, citing the death of his son Beau.

Beau Biden died in May that year age 46 from brain cancer.

On February 29 with the subject line ‘Interesting’, Joe sent a Real Clear Politics comment piece about a Justice Department investigation of Hillary’s use of a private email server to his family and aides

‘As my family and I have worked through the grieving process, I’ve said all along that it may very well be that that process closes the window on mounting a realistic campaign for president, and I’ve concluded it has closed,’ Joe said at a White House Rose Garden press conference where he announced the end of his 2016 campaign.

‘While I am not going to be a candidate, I will speak out clearly and forcefully as to where we stand as a party and where we need to go as a nation,’ he added.

Joe sent a third email with a critical Clinton story to his family in February 2016.

On February 29 with the subject line ‘Interesting’, Joe sent a Real Clear Politics comment piece about a Justice Department investigation of Hillary’s use of a private email server to his family and aides.

The article by University of Chicago political science professor Charles Lipson said a potential prosecution over the email scandal would put the White House ‘in a very tight box’ and predicted that FBI director James Comey ‘will present evidence of dozens and dozens of felonies’.

Vice President Biden sent negative articles to many of his family members. Here with his wife Jill as he takes the official oath of office surrounded by family members from left: Maisy, Hunter Biden, Naomi, Finnegan, Natalie, Kathleen, Ashley, Howard Krein, Beau and Hallie

‘Indictment on even a few felonies is a torpedo beneath the waterline for Clinton,’ the professor wrote, adding it was ‘clear that CIA and FBI investigators already fear an administration whitewash and have leaked damaging information to the press.’

Ultimately Comey decided not to recommend charges against Hillary in July 2016, saying her handling of classified materials while US secretary of state was ‘extremely careless’ but adding that the Bureau ‘cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts.’

Ironically as the article was critical of Hillary’s use of private emails, Joe’s message was sent using his secret email address ‘67stingray’.

The name is an apparent reference to his racing green 1967 Chevrolet Corvette which he famously took for a spin on CNBC show Jay Leno’s Garage.

The email was sent to his chief of staff Steve Ricchetti, advisor Mike Donilon, Hunter, Krein, Hallie, Naomi, Finnegan, Joe’s wife Jill, Valerie, and her husband Jack Owens.

The February 2016 email was first reported by the New York Post on April 12.
