I think I saw this movie in 1979, it didn’t have a happy ending.
Is he unfamiliar with why God gave us the rainbow?
Everyone needs something to believe in, but some people will very quickly become dependant on that belief and under any condition or development. To varying degrees, any country or community on earth will have such people within it, prone to blind and slavish obedience, no matter what.
Wonderful country and people, but every country has their idiots.
Hope the rest can get out and be reunited in their families. It’s a big deal for the teens to renounce. For many of them, once that was said to the parents, forget any loving parents or prodigal son story, your family straight rejects you.

Why peel the veggies, other than there not being much else to do? I’ve always heard the skin or peel is where the most vitamins are. “Eating or drinking banana, is going to be the very next thing” said someone.

Not really, I’m sorry to say.
Those roundish green things they are peeling are a sort of eggplant (they have several types there, including the one we call Thai eggplant). The skin of this one can be tough and bitter. So they peel them.
Like a playback of Jim Jones’ People’s Temple,
or the Order of the Solar Temple,
or the Heaven’s Gate cults,
who were ordered to commit suicide, usually when the leader realized the jig was up.
Not to mention 1954.

Oh, I see. Well in that case, they should continue. I love sautee’d or roasted eggplant. I don’t bother to peel it, but I make sure the peel is fully cooked, or it plays games with my stomach lining the next day.
