She was asked by a friend , after the USSR caved, to visit there and try to help teach and promote folks how to start and maintain private businesses on a contract with USAID. No easy task with the ingrained mind set of a lot of folks. They were there for a couple of weeks. Pre cell phone days so making contact was nearly impossible. The only call I got was one she was able to make out through the embassy and one other when she got to Paris on her way home. She took pride in what she did in a short amount of time. So nanzi, STFU.
