Well played and yes; I’m sure the Russians knew this would happen. The refineries are in Germany so of course they will take them over as long as no Russian oil is reaching them. The bigger question is any oil going to reach them and from where? I guess Germans have been running the refineries and will continue to do so as long as there is product to refine.
It’s always good entertainment when the Climate Nazis run head on to the reality that the world runs on oil. The world may slowly wean itself off but without oil; very little manufacturing gets done. There is no replacement for petroleum based products. Not yet anyway.
The world will never completely wean itself off of petroleum or natural gas. Without it we would have no plastics.
There are literally thousands of products made from petroleum and natural gas other than gasoline, heating oil, diesel fuel and burning methane for fuel.
We also need to stop referring to these as “fossil fuels”. They are made by the Earth. They are part of the ecosystem.
