FedEx FDX stock was tumbling after the company doubly disappointed investors Thursday announcing weak quarterly results earlier than expected while withdrawing its full-year financial guidance.

The stock was down more the 12% in after-hours trading after FedEx (ticker: FDX) said it earned $3.44 a share from $23.2 billion in sales in its fiscal 2023 first quarter which ended in August. Wall Street was looking for $5.10 in per-share earnings from $23.5 billion in sales.

And the Indians in the IT department hate the white/American delivery truck drivers. And they try to make their lives hard. And that entails screwing things up. And that is what is screwing deliveries up. BUT WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT THAT.

Interesting. Here in Indianapolis there’s a lot of Sikhs doing the grunt work.

Well my own experience with Fedex has been shockingly bad in the last two years. UPS and USPS have been so much better during that time, that it’s not even fair to make comparisons.

Fedex is merely “deliverish”. The package may or may not get to its destination in a window of variability of weeks. I have tracked some of my packages make it all the way to my home market, only to see them go back across the country, disappear from tracking, and mysteriously get delivered a few dats later.

“anyone who takes the time to deliberately clear to To: field before they post has entirely too much to think about. its just plain dumb!!”

And yet you took the time to bitch, moan, and cry about it twice in the same day Mr Karen von Menopause

Lot of fedex franchises for sale in western usa, and have been since June.

This news doesn’t surprise me in combo with the above

I always laugh at people when they use bad grammar when insulting someone’s intelligence. The wrong ‘its’ in his case.

Its now Fedex or your firearms packages get intercepted and destroyed by UPS.

I hate fedex, but so far they haven’t started torching packages yet.

It’s an economic downturn, PLUS FedEx can’t keep employees. Warehouses especially have a significant turnover rate.

the advent of Amazon’s own truck delivery service has to have hurt both UPS and FedEx but I have seen surprisingly little commentary on the subject

Two years ago, to protest Amazon's developing their own delivery fleet, FedEx stopped shipping Amazon packages. To make up some of the slack, they started delivering the packages they had once contracted the Postal Service to deliver.

That came nowhere close to making up for the lost volume.

That's what led to the mess they're in now.

Is that the same FedEx leadership that pressured the useless Dan Snyder to change the Redskins’ name?

“FedEx has totally cratered in their ability to deliver and track packages. For the last several years. almost nothing I’ve ordered that’s shipped FedEx arrives on time. God help you if you want to track it. Website will give you multiple different answers on when it’s supposed to arrive, where it is, etcWe’ve seen some truly humorous stuff..”arriving tomorrow”. Tomorrow comes..”ETA unavailable”. etc. This is their CORE business, and they can’t even get it done. I avoid FedEx like the plague if I have any choice in shippers.”

my experience as well ... complete chaos ...

Same here. I have over 1900 Amazon home delivery orders which are all UPS and USPS. But Lowes and Home Depot use Fed X. Their stuff shows up late, broken, wet. I have a Ring video of the Fed X driver parking on my grass and tossing the package over the wall onto my portico.

“FedEx has totally cratered in their ability to deliver and track packages.”

One package completely destroyed and another package misdelivered to the same location twice? I know that is just anecdotal but I have little faith in that company.

Good.. fedex has the worst customer service to include their drivers. I never have a smooth experience with them. Unions. They actually suggested twice that I take the package to a drop off. When I told them they come daily to my office, they still insisted I take it to a drop off. I actually had to leave my office and hand them the box. Even with the confirmation number the driver couldn’t scan it in. I will never use them if I have a choice. This Wass return battery so it was not important. A variant of this happened three times.

Plus in reality, at least someone who follows von Mises, would argue governments love inflation as it makes debt payment less painful. They would never say that directly, but indirectly by parroting on “inflation is better than deflation”.
