MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle ripped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday night for slow-walking proposed legislation that would bar members of Congress from trading stocks while in office.
Ruhle criticized the speaker during a conversation with Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia – one of several lawmakers who has submitted proposals that would ban Congressional stock trading.
“It’s legal to be sleazy, especially in this case for members of Congress. She wrote this legislation in 2020. Nancy Pelosi has had months and months and months to bring this thing to the floor,” Ruhle said during MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour.”“You’ve got a little over two weeks. Is there any chance Speaker Pelosi brings this thing to a vote? You can’t blame Republicans on this one,” she added.

I thought they were already banned from trading stocks while in Congress! I thought they had to use blind trusts or else give up their shares. WTF??!?
Seriously, congresscritters think insider trading is a right and perk of the job.
As one said: “Otherwise, why would we bother to take this job?”
Insider trading is legal for members of Congress.
Ban it and they'll just have their relatives making the deals for overseas shell corporations.

First, a few years ago they made insider trading for themselves legal.
Then, after public outcry and Martha Stewart being jailed for it, made it illegal for themselves.
The, a few months later, when nobody was looking, they quietly made it legal for themselves again.
Nope… they can insider trade and you cannot. I want to say it was under o am when they legalized it for congress…. Maybe just the senate. It has been many years.
