‘It’s Not an Army Here’: Russian Soldier Warns of Battlefield Collapse
The Daily Beast ^ | September 14, 2022

Posted on 09/14/2022 3:16:58 PM PDT by Dr. Franklin

Russia is said to be canceling plans to send new troops to Ukraine as more of its service members are reportedly refusing to fight following humiliating losses on the battlefield.

Ukrainian intelligence reported Wednesday that members of the 5th Separate Tank Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces are surrendering their military benefits in order to resign for their refusal to fight.

“At the same time, a catastrophic shortage of personnel is seen in the units taking part in the war against Ukraine,” the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said.

...

In the latest audio released by Ukraine’s defense ministry, a man identified as a Russian soldier in the Kharkiv region can be heard angrily complaining about the military being in shambles, in what is described as an intercepted phone call.

“I imagined all of this differently, because there’s no kind of organization. I thought there was an army here, but it’s not an army here,” he tells a relative.

“Everyone is out for themselves,” he says.

U.S. officials have said Ukraine’s gains on the battlefield have forced Russian troops to literally flee, abandoning equipment as they retreat. According to a report by The Moscow Times, Russian forces near Izyum in the Kharkiv region lost half of their equipment in just four days this month.

Amid rising outrage among Russians over the losses, the Kremlin is said to be maneuvering to deflect blame from Putin by pinning it on military advisers instead.

But the losses in the Kherson and Kharkiv regions appear to have hit ordinary Russians harder than earlier defeats in the Kyiv region and on Snake Island, so much so that they sparked speculation on many pro-Kremlin social media channels about Ukraine taking the war well into Russian territory.

How many here think that the Uke army would actually go so far as to enter Russia and take over a small city?

I don't believe they would, and it would be incredibly foolish if they did. A lot of the Russian people likely aren't all that thrilled about Russian boys killing and getting killed by Ukrainian boys in Ukraine, and just want it to stop. But if the Uke's actually start attacking Russian towns, etc., that's a different story.

“when Russia disintegrates this will be when Vlad dies, which means soon.”

Also posted today at Ukraine search, was a story on a possible attempt against Putin recently. He was third in a 5 car convoy. An ambulance blocked the group, but the first 2 cars pulled around and took off. Then something struck the left front wheel with a thud, and smoke erupted. Putin’s car managed to get around and arrive home. A body was found in the Ambulance, one of the first cars was located some distance away and 3 of Putin’s security guards that day were still missing when I saw the link this afternoon. Some of his security group have been arrested.

This sounds like the real thing, I wonder if he will still have his meeting with Xi in one of the Stans this week. He sure won’t have a strong bargaining position.

Ukraine found a way to get inside the Russia OODA look like no one has since World War II.

We got inside it pretty good in 2003 when the Iraqi TV folk were saying we were nowhere near Baghdad, and then our guys showed up in the background of the shot with the reporter. Pretty funny stuff.

But your point is completely correct. You can almost feel that Boyd cycle spinning around the Russians' heads, completely out of their reach as they are in total reactive mode. The Ukes are going to have to rest, and at that point, the Russians will catch up a bit. I just hope the guys in charge of planning the attack know how far to push it before reining it in a bit so that they don't give the Russians a chance at an easy counter-attack.

Your post No. 34 is the exact type of real world/no b.s. post that shows you know what you’re talking about. I’ve known a few dumb grunts, but most of them are a lot smarter than they let on.

Here is the link for the story about what appears to be an attempt to kill Putin in a motorcade. Security people have been arrested, and a dead body was found in the ambulance that blocked the motorcade. Read the whole article.

I don’t know what it is either and I’ve been here only one year less than you and I’ll have to admit I’m surprised you’re touting the veracity of daily beast

Simply because they are saying what you want to hear that’s not how you base truthful opinions about a conflict and you know that

I read all sides of this and I’ve come to the conclusion we are being lied to frequently in fact almost completely the only truth lately is yes do Ukraine did take territory in Kharkov

All the embellishment is just propaganda and by the way pay attention a real bottle is happening now that doesn’t matter

🔹️ Keep in mind the new breakout battles between Azerbaijan and Armenia -

This is another real mess.

As I have a very good friend and source from Yerevan, people need to be aware the current leader of Armenia is/has been another highly corrupt FSB associated thug. Basically being a FSB thug/mafia operative of the Kremlin and Putin, not dissimilar to Ram-a-bomb Kadyrov (son of FSB associated Akhmad-Khadzhi Abdulkhamidovich), and he is hated by many.

Armenia wanted to become totally free, and associated with the US specifically 🇺🇸 (not so much with the EU) back in 1989 through 1991, and again in the 1990’s, but much of the leadership was literally knocked off (similar to pro US Ukrainian leaders in the mid 1990’s) and Russian armor put in the streets.

This was before the latest Georgia/Russian smash.

So the current corrupt Armenian Gov and leadership, and the corrupt Azerbaijani government have begun trading heavy artillery fire (with Azerbaijan taking some ground), with the corrupt Armenian Putinist now demanding another early 1990’s type Russian armored intervention, only from Putin this time - EVEN WHILE PROTESTERS ARE DEMANDING THE PUTINIST LEADER STEP DOWN, as they don’t want any of this!

As everyone on here likely knows, Azerbaijan is another massive global energy producer (from the Caspian).

Disruption of more energy from Azerbaijan would be globally catastrophic.

Perhaps most interesting in this latest conflict between the two, Russia is in an axis relationship with Iran (Tehran), and building several NPP’s in Iran right now, and this conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan threatens to cut off Russia’s land and road routes directly into Iran and the Persian Gulf.

This is of great strategic importance to Moscow, Putin, and Beijing, or whoever may succeed Putin.

Leftism is doing what leftism always does - rob, kill, enslave, destroy.

“How many here think that the Uke army would actually go so far as to enter Russia and take over a small city?”

Not me. I doubt seriously that Ukraine is going to move forces into Russia, even the border areas. It may, though, hit Russian military supply depots just across the border, via drone.

—”I read all sides of this and I’ve come to the conclusion we are being lied to frequently in fact almost completely...”

IMO there is a tremendous unseen background action and this mostly appears on any thread that might involve the Ukraine topic.

The Resistance Operating Concept, AKA ROC doctrine US conceived a plan for small countries resistance of attacks by larger states circa 2012. I has been previously implemented and changes with local considerations...

From CNN:
The doctrine also calls for a broad messaging campaign to control the narrative of the conflict, prevent an occupier’s message from taking hold, and keeping the population united.
Videos of Ukrainian strikes against Russian tanks, often to a soundtrack of pop music or heavy metal, have gone viral, as have clips of Ukrainian soldiers rescuing stray animals. Whether intentional or not, it becomes part of the resistance, allowing Ukraine to frame the headlines in western media in their favor and often humanizing Ukrainian service members in ways the Russian military has abjectly failed to do. https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/27/politics/russia-ukraine-resistance-warfare/index.html

Reading around shows many are surprised at how well Ukraine is doing with the ROC and that the famous Russian propaganda machine is mostly missing in action.
The “Ghost of Kyiv” gave them a good start; my favorite is the old man and shotgun taking down an SU 34.
Humanizing Ukrainians, heroic Ukrainians, is humorous and aggravates the Russians and their supporters; notice the many reactions from the vatniks....
There is a large PDF on ROC from USG(https://www.hsdl.org/?abstract&did=838149) do not waste your time as I have, mostly boiler plate.

—”I’ll have to admit I’m surprised you’re touting the veracity of daily beast”

I read around, a lot and wish I had foreign language skills... Also do a quick WHOIS on the unusual sites and am slightly concerned that Mr Torvalds & Co may have left an opening on my workstation.
Yes. I have heard of myside bias/confirmation bias.

AND.
“Everyone holds a piece of the truth.”
―Gandhi—
On today’s internet, the portion has noticeably decreased.

The interlopers have aversion to almost any internet site with a working link.

The problem is the total bs posts; they add nothing.
Wasting time is probably one of their goals.
Yes, sometimes I do engage wasting still more time.

Some are looking to stir the pot with the same canned replies and photoshop graphics. More wasted time.

The anti-war/econ factors/religion/ecology... types are fine if they simply present their case; we can discuss it.
I have known former grunts that are deep antiwar and will glady brief anyone, and I say good for them. Thirty months RVN and bear the physical scars.
I used to take the train to work and every week or so would see an old bud attempting to sell the communist’s newspaper at the Chicago station. It was enjoyable to talk with him, even when I had to take a later train.
I was always generous hoping he used it on himself, but he was a true believer.

Surprisingly there are a few well-known posters that put out simple bs with zero to back up their post.
They post their position/source and I can decide, simple enough.

And: Early reports are error-prone.

“I would have written a shorter letter, but I did not have the time.” Pascal -— Also this topic is damaging the Freerepublic I enjoy reading.

PS:
A friend has received numerous name-calling rants/ threats pure sewage from a well-known poster in FR private mail.

I had always thought well of them and they had previously helped me with some technical issues... Recently I saw some public posts from the same individual and had to double-check an incredible change???

I liked the well done visual I saw early on of a Ukranian housewife batting a small drone out of the air. I think she was leaning out of her apartment window.
