While I want abortion to be treated as 1st degree premeditated murder in all 50 states, I don’t want the federal government to have anything to do with it. The current USSC seems to think this needs to be handled by the states.

That’s a little over the top don’t you think?? And that kind of thinking will cost many republicans elections this year because many people disagree with their stance on abortion. Republicans over played their hand on this issue. Instead of finding out what people in their states wanted they rushed ahead and banned everything. And now we see many of them backtracking or avoiding talking about it due to the backlash.
