Keene Mayor George Hansel conceded to Hillsborough County Treasurer Robert Burns in the GOP primary for New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District on Wednesday.
Although no major outlets have called the race, Burns leads Hansel by 2 percentage points, 32.8% to 30.8%, with 76% of the votes counted. Businesswoman Lily Tang Williams trailed in third place with 25%.
Burns, who aligned himself most closely with former President Donald Trump in the race, is slated to face six-term congresswoman Annie Kuster (D) in the general election for the slightly left-leaning seat.
"Last night didn't go our way, but I would like to thank all of our supporters and voters who made this campaign possible," Hansel said in a statement. "Ann Kuster has been an absolute disaster for New Hampshire, and I look forward to doing everything I can to ensure we defeat her this November."
Burns repeatedly hit Hansel, who has served as mayor of a Democratic-heavy town, on his pro-abortion rights stance on the trail and alleged that he represented a "sanctuary city" throughout the campaign.

NH ping
It’s setting up to be a major Red wave, if only the GOP had a handful of good ad men.
Something there is that doesn’t love a fence.
Exactly. 87,000 new armed IRS goons, 5 million illegals, record inflation, kids school lunches held back for the LBTG nazi’s and not a single add is being run.
Might want to count your chickens first.
