Since when would bankers know about supplying gas?

Secondly, GS bringing up their projected cost of it is a Red Herring as the issue is about the total number of people who will need gas, how much they will need, and if there will be enough available to meet that need.

It wouldn’t matter even if price controls were brought into play.

If a town, for example, needed 1,000 bottles of water and only 500 was available, they would still be 500 short even if demand and lack of supply drove up the price and price controls kicked in to keep the price per bottle down.

Price controls or not, the town would still be 500 bottles short.
