The Texas Department of Public Safety has suspended a trooper claiming his actions during a traffic stop were unprofessional and a violation of policy.

For a lot of cops, it’s an ego contest.
Submit and grovel or be punished.

Here we go.
What is it with blacks refusing to comply with police directions?
Especially if it’s a white cop.
I get it, but is it really a LOT of cops? I doubt it.
I have instructed my daughters to do the exact same thing. My oldest (who never listens) got pulled over late at night by an unmarked car. The driver got out (no uniform) and approached her car. She drove off (at least she got it partly right) and called 911.
I have another story about a young lady whose baby was in crisis. She was racing to the ER and an officer pulled her over. She explained what was going on and asked him to follow. The ER staff were waiting for her when she arrived and while they (ER) were rushing the baby in for emergency brain surgery (5th in that year alone) the officer was slamming this woman around for her many offenses (legit).
She baited him and he fell for it.
“I’d like to see body cam footage, and hear his side of the story.”
The images are not clear, but the first images show her shaking her finger in his face. He is having to pull her to turn her around. She is starting with attitude. Lawsuit to follow.
Similar case - but worse.
There is no law which requires you to pull over within a specific amount of time.

Maybe because their cousin is a lawyer?
“The images are not clear, but the first images show her shaking her finger in his face. He is having to pull her to turn her around. She is starting with attitude. Lawsuit to follow.”
Cop alone should not escalate. Call for backup to assist.
Cops should NOT be our friends (unless they are speaking to school children in a classroom setting.) They are our default adversaries if we are on the wrong side of the law and non-compliant with lawful orders.
So what? Shaking a finger is not a crime.
Oh I promise you she thinks she hit the lottery
I think the woman’s side is closer to the truth as the DPS did suspend the officer after watching the body cam footage.
It would be interesting to hear his side, but his behavior seems over the top.
I have not immediately pulled over for police because the conditions were unsafe and we would have created a traffic hazard. I always tried to wave to the officer that I was complying.
The officers always asked why didn’t I stop. I told them my reasoning and most were OK. A few still had an attitude that I should have stopped immediately.
Sorry, but I will not put people in danger or cause hazards for a moving violation. That is ridiculous.
I don't get it either. Simple instructions. Do what they say. Then take your ticket. Or go home.
You bet. I wouldn’t pull over and stop until I thought it was perfectly safe for me and the cop. Pulling over on the side of a highway or freeway can result in sudden death for those stupid enough to stand next to traffic lanes.
In fact, one is the biggest killers of cops is being struck by vehicles during traffic stops.
The woman was less than cooperative once she pulled over.
The cop was needlessly angry.
The cop is supposed to be a cool and calm trained professional. He was not in this incident. He deserves the suspension.
