An elected official who allegedly murdered an investigative reporter in Las Vegas will remain in office for months and still get paid while he sits in prison.

Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles was denied bail last week after he was charged in the stabbing death of Jeff German, a Las Vegas Review-Journal journalist who had been probing Telles’ alleged misconduct in office.

It was only an old white male reporter.

Innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.

This is one of the ways a Democrat gains “street cred.”

Why let a charge of murder slow down your political career?

Why not? He is a Democrat and will be reelected in a landslide the next election. Plus at the end of the month, he will be released from jail.

The government in works.
It is really hard to fire government worker.
In 2006, Phoenix was ravaged by serial killer(s) named highway shooter.
It turned out to be a couple of detrained individuals who just cruised around and hunted people who looked like homeless, just for sport.
The guys were arrested, indicted, convicted, sentenced to death.
One of them worked as a janitor in Phoenix airport.
Even after sitting on death row, he was still working there. It took them about 4-5 years to fire him eventually!

I certainly do not hold to that idea anymore. It would be nice if it were true, and I really would like to see Government officials restrained from just tossing anyone they don't like into jail.

Like the J6 protestors. I do not recall that they killed anybody.

But in any case, it's not a crime if a Democrat does it.

I support the President, but in this case, who cares about him.

How many are in the DC Jail for...walking around the Capitol? How many have pled to ridiculous charges because they don’t have the money to hire attorney’s to defend them?

The murderer was dressed up like a bag lady on several surveillance videos - impossible to tell gender or facial features or even height and weight because of a huge hat and baggy over sized jacket and sweat pants.

One problem - he was video taped driving away in his own car, with his license plate in full view.

What is the mental process involved that makes otherwise reasonably intelligent people think they can get away with crimes like murder?

Remember all the outrage about Trump’s supposed threat to the free press?

Where is the outrage about this Democrat elected official actually murdering a journalist who was investigating him?

“Telles” is a variant of the Hispanic name “Tellez”. The perp’s last name. This is heated Aztecan-Incan blood at work. Death by knives. It’s their culture. Now it’s ours.

Ought to be a mechanism to prevent it

Won’t be any outrage. He is a Democrat.

He’s been locked out of the county’s web. So...he can’t perform his job...so he’ll get BACK unemployment when he applies for it, a few years from now, when he needs the $ for a new attorney to handle his appeal. (Not that he’s guilty or anything.)
