If the GOP wants to control who represents them, then they either have to finance and run their primaries themselves or go back to caucuses.

Some third parties do this now.

If the GOP gets the state to pay for the polling places, the ballots, the counting of ballots, etc. then they have to play by the state's rules. And if the states decide for Open Primaries, then that's that.
