The stuff is so expensive it doesn't come in unlimited quantities. You have to buy it in multi-$100B contracts over several years and then they shut down production. They can restart - but how bad do you need it cuz it's gonna cost. They have other highly profitable defense work that they will have to set aside for your special request, which they will willingly do because they are patriotic.
I think the first salvo of WWIII was just fired. Do we escalate or back down? Did we not actually think about what Ukraine was about, what was at stake, etc. besides Hunter's sweetheart deal on the board of a gas corporation?
NATO has indeed been supplying the weaponry AS IF there were unlimited quantities of it. That’s why we’re are in such dire circumstances. Our regime has been pissing away dollars AS IF.... as well. I give zero credence to the disinfo du jour about Russia’s imminent collapse, however, theses weapons are surely taking their toll. If it becomes a toll Russia can no longer bear, they will stop them by doing whatever is necessary. And yeah, most likely we’re off to the races at that point.
Nearly all the aid to Ukraine is of not exactly fancy stuff, it doesnt come in $100B contracts. Artillery, artillery ammo, HIMARS, HIMARS missiles, 152mm shells contracted from Romania and Poland, all that isn’t F-35s or aircraft carriers. These are the small change weapons of the arms world.
“I think the first salvo of WWIII was just fired.”
No, it hasn’t.
