They were winning, now they are retreating. In some ways they still are. The Ukrainians got their new weapons, training and tactics and now Ukranians got the momentum. We will see if it can sustained and lead to final Russian withdrawal. This conflict is far from over from what I can t well, unless a negotiated treaty happens.
Russian win as long as they have plenty of artillery and rocket tubes and the shells and rockets to go with them. They are helpless against a fast moving combined arms assault.
Now their supply hubs and rail lines are either captured or cut. No artillery and other supplies, leaves a very helpless Ivan - who is trained to fight with plenty of artillery. No artillery, then its time to skedaddle home.
The only forces the RGF can count on are the chewed up airborne, special forces and Wagners who are skilled, motivated and well trained; trouble is they represent a small fraction of the RGF forces. The rest of their army (the regular troops) is, for all intents and purposes, useless.
