Ukraine - Battle Of The Izium Bulge?

After the light Luhanks Peoples' Republic forces who had held that area were overrun by the ISIS style attack of the Ukrainian forces, the Russian army has pulled up its heavy reserves. Mi-26 helicopters brought in armored vehicles and soldiers to stop the attacks wherever possible.

The Ukrainians are also pulling in heavy weapons for a new push along their front lines.

Armored land bound Russian forces are coming in from the east and north. The Russian air force and army aviation have air superiority and pound the Ukrainian lines.

We can expect a lot of attacks on the quite thin and long supply lines of the Ukrainian spearhead. The town of Shevchenkove, where several big roads and train lines cross, may be a weak point of the Ukrainian offensive. Retaking it would cut the main Ukrainian supply lines in the area.

The latest Rybar situation report says (edited machine translation):

Battle for Kharkov: the situation on the Izium-Kuyansk section of the front - by the end of September 9, 2022

🔻 Kupyansk direction

▪️The sending of reserves to the Kupyansk section of the front by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation managed to stop the advance of the main forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine a few kilometers from the city line.

▪️ By the end of the day the Armed Forces of Ukraine established control over the villages of Chkalovskoye, Shevchenko, Borovskoye and control the Chuguev - Kupyansk highway to Grushevka, which allowed to transfer equipment and artillery systems to the combat contact line.

▪️ The Ukrainian command is forming a shock group for the assault on Kupyansk in the Grushevka and Staroverovka area. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation apply artillery and missile bombing at the places of enemy

ISIS Style attack.

Hard Eye Roll.

Why people read/believe that website is beyond me.

Crap like Q and Moons over Alabama make the ACTUAL coming fight against the WEF/BBB harder, because people will point to them and say “Russian Bot Clowns” and they aren’t far off.

As the Ukrainian Army advances in #Kharkiv Oblast we can finally see the results of HIMARS strikes; at least 2 Tigr-M IMVs, 2 R-149MA1, 1 R-145BM1 command and staff vehicle, 2 9T244 Tor AD system transloaders, armored KAMAZ & many more cargo trucks were obliterated.

The map sure looks like a setup for a second Stalingrad.

Himars Strike Aftermath

They were hiding the armored vehicles in a warehouse to hide them, but got caught. Now the Ukies get lots of spare parts.

Staligrad where the Russians are the Germans.

The Comparisons to the Battle of the Bulge are just dumb.

The German Bulge would have worked if the Allied dropped their guns and fled like the Russians just did.

The Ukrainians didn’t use tanks that get 2 gallons to the mile and need a fuel source to take 850 square miles (like the BotB), but a Russian counterattack to take it back, will, so they probably won’t be taking it back anytime soon.

The Russian Troops in Izum are now screwed.

The “bulge” seems to be quite defensible from the East, on account of the river and reservoirs. The North side looks open, but there are almost no north-south roads. Once the Izyum bulge is occupied there is a good road and bridge at Izyum, and so also to the West, which has been the axis of the Ukrainian attack.

It wont look like much of a bulge once the Izyum bulge is eliminated, apparently in process of withrawal.

Word is that Izyum city has already fallen, and that trapped units are negotiating surrender. YMMV of course.

We shall see.

It’s not clear how much fighting has actually happened. Looks like the Russian “army” mostly ran away. That leaves the Russian interior ministry militia bare assed to the Ukrainian offensive. Maybe Putin should have drafted Russian women instead of these Muscovite jackrabbits?

Reports from pro-Russia telegram channels are that Izyum has either been taken by Ukraine or abandoned by Russian forces as they fled across the river.

Russian telegrams are also reporting retreats from Luhansk and UKA forces are said to be outside of Lysychansk.

The Russian telegram channels are now just repeating a mantra:

Твердо и четко! И никакой паники!
Firmly and clearly! And no panic!

They are totally not panicing.

The Ukies are taking advantage of troops removed from the Eastern front and sent to the Southern front, and the isolated geography in this region, i.e., farmland bounded by rivers, reservoirs, and swamps. The Ruskies overextended themselves, and the Ukies are taking advantage, but must be careful not to overextend themselves in the process.

When the Izyum bulge is evacuated, the total length of front should actually be shorter. Granted this applies to both sides.

The Ruskies overextended themselves

It’s more that the Ruskies exposed themselves for what they are: corrupt and incompetent garbage. The Russian army has a fine tradition fighting women and children. Everything else not so much. HIMARS, etc., took away their firepower superiority and their doctrine is kaput.

Ministry of Defense of Russia
In order to achieve the stated goals of the special military operation to liberate Donbass, a decision was made to regroup the Russian troops stationed in the Balakleya and Izyum regions to build up efforts in the Donetsk direction.

◽️To this end, within three days, an operation was carried out to curtail and organize the transfer of the Izyum-Balakley group of troops to the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic. During this operation, a number of distraction and demonstration activities were carried out with the designation of the real actions of the troops.

◽️In order to prevent damage to Russian troops, a powerful fire defeat was inflicted on the enemy using aviation, missile troops and artillery.

◽️Over three days, more than two thousand Ukrainian and foreign fighters were destroyed, as well as over a hundred units of armored vehicles and artillery.

Not a retreat but a “change of base,” eh?

Putin rests on the laurels of the Soviet WWII victory. The Soviet military was nothing but backward before the British and Americans began lend-lease with them. They literally couldn't win a battle without allied support in WWII. Stalin also prevailed upon the West to not arm the Poles, who were his rivals in modern Ukraine and Belarus. Not only that, Stalin was so paranoid about Polish influence, he shipped Gen. Anders' army to the West through Iran to get rid of them contrary to the orders of the Polish government in exile.

Pound for pound, the Poles were arguably the leanest, meanest fighting machine of WWII. British Gen Harold Alexander came to that conclusion after they took Monte Cassino. The Poles also claim that they were the first Allied military personnel in the heart of Berlin when it fell. They have pictures which they claim prove it. Stalin was happy to use Polish troops as cannon fodder, but very reluctant to give them credit. Much of what is transpiring in this region today can be viewed as the Poles reclaiming influence in Belarus and Ukraine at the expense of the Russians, their traditional rivals.
