Bannon was already tried for this. He was alleged to have pilfered $1 million of the donations, back in 2017. President Trump pardoned him in 2019. So this is just a rehash of the same charges. In legal terms, it’s Double Jeopardy.

... this is just a rehash of the same charges. In legal terms, it’s Double Jeopardy.It seems odd, but President Trump's pardon was for federal charges, and doesn't touch state charges. Sort of like a pardon for criminal charges doesn't touch civil cases, e.g., OJ Simpson.

It's basically double jeopardy, with the federal/state trial making a meaningless distinction that should probably be eliminated. Bannon was aquitted already.
However the courts decide, Trump said he's innocent, and I'll take that over any judge, any day. Case closed!
