I read an article a few years ago about a guy that moved his family to NY from Florida. He had a concealed carry permit in Florida, applied for his permit in NY.
While waiting for his permit to be processed in NY, one night he woke to a noise in his home. Walked out of his room to find a man (intruder) standing at the doorway of his son’s room.
One thing led to another, and he shoots the intruder. Cops in NY arrested this man for brandishing a firearm without a permit.
Unlike all of us up here who have to put up with the climate nuts, where they'll go will have guaranteed central heating.
I am sorry, there are simply too many screeching Karens for this to come about until conditions in certain cities get Hobbesian. Even then most of the lilly livered white collar types will pay for a ‘security service’ rather than be Pallidan. We have asociety that glorifies cowardice by calling it ;civilized’ conduct. I went through this shit with my late wife a couple times and my mother was as bad. Never have a confrontation==oh nos, awful bad. My late wife even went so far as to tell me if I went head to head with anyone again she would leave. This is just another of the situations that will have to stew for a while to produce, maybe, some real push back. I vividly remember being in San Salvador at the height of the communist insurrection when middle class men were just snatched off the street by communists and disappeared. Even then guys such as accountants, business managers, lawyer absolutely would not arm themselves. Oh that would be rerrible, undignified, and something a good observant Catholic would never do. Meanwhile the war against the communists was fought professional soldiers who were tough customers and the opposite of being ‘goood, very holy men’. The professionals and the conscripted peasants and workers fought a no prisoners taken, brutal, fight in the shadows and beat the commies to the point where they pretty much agreed to end fighting. No help to the army and customs police by the ‘goood people’ who were offended by having such ‘bad’ men having to save their yellow asses.
