One of them is composting. Composting is hard work but self-defeating. It easily makes enough methane to fry a turkey from only a few pounds of grass.
As boring as Geology 101 was, it made it clear to me at least two things: (i) that no one can do anything about climate change. Not now, not ever, and (ii) warmer is better unless you like mass starvation and extinction.

We were having dinner with friends last week and the topic of climate change came up. I politely pointed out the very spot we were dining was buried under one mile of ice just 300 generations ago.
Someone needs to explain to them what the word “more” in sophomore means.
We live in an era of great deception.
Pick the topic, follow the $$$, and you will see that decisions are based on goals beyond the “problems”.
The climate changes constantly. Just as God planned for it to. Mankind will never change the Climate. That is God’s work.
You should also tell them we are currently in an Ice Age - the Quaternary (2.58M years to now). Quaternary defined as a period of cyclic continental glaciations. We’ve been enjoying a warm lull since the ice sheets retreated. Tell them not to worry someday they’ll be back and there’s nothing we can do about it!
I’m not worried about what sort of world we are leaving for the children; I’m worried about what sort of children we are leaving for the world...
There won't be a tree left standing in Europe when this winter is over.
You should remind them that the day the climate STOPS changing will be a VERY bad day.
