Boils down to the fact that the Globalist(liberal world order) wants control of Russia and what Russia has. Putin knows it and has more resources to fight them than others have had. I’ve been calling it the Dark Ages 2.0 for a while now. I’ve also seen some prognosticating that the USA will be back to a pre-WWII days standard of living. The ‘tough’ folks, older folks, who maybe grew up on farms or worked hard, have common sense and can think out of the box will be fine. The soy boy/girl types are going to be in a world of hurt when all they have is their apartments, basements and empty grocery shelves. The “ferals” will also be abandoning the inner cities where there will be nothing for survival, like rats coming off a sinking ship. It’s going to be ‘interesting’ times at a minimum.
Your thesis assumes the Russia won’t be one to collapse. That’s not a reasonable assumption considering that it has done so twice in the last 105 years.

One big effect of the sanctions was the pull out of major multinational corporations and the businesses left behind were taken over by Russians. The West with sanctions managed only to remove their own Trojan horse corporations and enrich Russians.
