You realize most people in Europe are dedicated Greenies, wholeheartedly voted for the pols who enacted Green policies, arranged Russian gas supply, etc., and are far more open to the argument “Putin turned off the gas” than “I should point the finger at myself”? Plus they are far more favorable to being led around than Conservative Americans are. Or, more easily duped, if you will.

Played properly a “never fail to take advantage of a crisis” approach will turn the crisis to support for the pols. Almost like what Pooty has managed in terms of public opinion. That can’t last forever, but it probably will last a while.

From 1814, I do not care what happened on the Continent of Europe. We should have allied ourselves with Russia, keeping them from the madness of the Revolution instead of safeguarding the Brits, frogs and Eurotrash.

We have an Ocean between us for a reason, we should have kept a strong Navy, and built a country along the dreams of the Founder, not an Empire.
