The US/NATO/West jointly pledged to destroy Russia's economy and deplete their military capability.

Were they so stupid they never considered what Russia would do as a result?

I think they were that stupid.

And multiple governments will fall in Europe before next summer as NATO splinters.

There is a war going on and the EU countries are supporting the enemy and have place economic sanctions on Russia. And they expect Russia not respond????

Of course Ukraine gets around a billion US$$ as a transfer fee from Russia every year for passing Russian oil to Europe. That will come to an end now.

I agree with Trump that NATO needed to wake up and dump Russia and strengthen NATO.

This mess Europe is going through as they disentangle from Russia will hopefully remind them that they were drifting too far left and that they need to increase defense spending and listen less to the anti-energy Greens.

A near-death winter scare that they survive, will be good for the West.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of using energy as a weapon by keeping a critical pipeline to Germany shut down

Translation….. give me more money

All is fair in love and war, Zelensky.

The President of a corrupt, non-NATO country was able to convince the West to provide billions in cash and billions in equipment and inject themselves in your war. Europe is an active participant.

Soon, Europe will be dealing with some serious issues. And they’ll have to make some tough choices. Continue to support Zelensky and freeze. End any and all aid, Zelensky is done. Hmmmm……decisions decisions.

“””There is a war going on and the EU countries are supporting the enemy”””

Actually, the United States and our NATO allies are supporting our side, not the enemies.

The impact is not limited to Europe.

The impact is enormous here too...and all over the world.

The democratic west cannot sustain the embargo. They are trying to figure out how to weasel out right now. In another couple of months, they’ll be overt in their pleading to Russia.

Russia and Putin do not have to “prepare” anything.....

The Europeans and the UK have been doing a fine job on their own, via the sanctions, of committing a “decisive energy attack on all Europeans” as it directly pertains and relates to this coming European winter. They better pray they have a ‘warm’ winter.

Can’t fix stupid.
And yet, the Europeans, as with the UK and US, are repeatedly and willingly stuck on stupid.

The world, and especially America, is a long way from having to surrender to Russia.

“The world, and especially America, is a long way from having to surrender to Russia.”

You realize you’re talking about US and European politicians under enormous pressure...right?

Of course, my hope is that rather than being surrender monkees, better and tougher, and farther thinking politicians win more offices.

I’m with Trump, Europe had to do this and they need to become stronger militarily, and they need to get the greens out of the driver’s seat.

“better and tougher, and farther thinking politicians win more offices”

The people in the west don’t want that.

They want cheap food and energy. And they realize Russia does no have the ability to widen the war.

They want out.

It goes back long before OrangeManBad, apparently Reagan warned Europe not to become dependent on Russian natural gas.

I know France at one time generated over half of their electricity from nuclear reactors.

Just after the WW2 Tehran Conference, Stalin said to a journalist, (roughly translated):

"It's high time the Slavic race was in charge of Europe."

Putin is channeling Stalin, and probably delights in it.

Never forget that Russian political culture is still largely derived from the Mongol hordes who over-ran the region in the 13th century. They never really left.

Whatever. In the meantime, the military/industrial complex is making out like bandits, thank you very much. Loads of orders for new weapons, replenishments, etc. Nothing like a nice little war to increase defense budgets, increase profits.

The Europeans, Ukrainians are chumps.

Not everyone in the West are pro-Russian surrender monkees by any means, many still vote for a strong defense and a strong NATO, many have family in NATO or are serving in it right now and are enjoying seeing Russia paying such a price that it makes their job of protecting the West from Russia, safer.
