In what many hope will be a precedent-setting case, a Kansas teacher who was suspended for refusing to use a student’s preferred pronouns and hide a student’s gender transition from her parents has been awarded a $95,000 settlement.

I would say the case was settled, not dismissed.
Hope this sets a precedent and sends a message to any other government school that tries this.
... You're a BOY or GIRL - that's it!
The amazing part is, this known fact (a boy is a boy, a girl is a girl) - had to be threatened with a lawsuit before the school would admit it.
And they wonder why government school enrollment is cratering.
Not enough. Should have been 20 million, at least.
Let's quit educating our kids and teach them to be queers! - Your public school systems.....imho
I don’t like “settling” out of court, because the offender always reserved the position that he denies wrongdoing.
I’d much rather have a court DECLARE that the offender was officially, legally wrong. A much more powerful outcome.
Great!…should have been 9.5 million…anyone can pretend to be anything they want…others shouldn’t have to pretend along with them…
She retires in May. I am sure the board will find a suitable replacement.
Good! Thanks for posting.

Too many of those 90% even make uninformed posts proving they didn’t read past the headline misleading the part of those 90% that read those posts.
The U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas sided with Ricard in a ruling that can send ripples throughout the nation.

I’m not a huge fan of lawsuits but I think this teacher did exactly the right thing. I’m thrilled for her that she won.
The amount she is getting will make a nice addition to her retirement neet egg, but I agree, more would have been better.
It’s a start. They’ll have to challenge a long list of districts to get traction.
The award is modest.

Teach got $95k. Most folks would say that's a lot of money to pay out for a school district that did nothing wrong.

So would I but sometimes the person in the right doesn't have the funds to keep fighting until the bitter end.
OH, God how much I miss Rush.
I turned on my radio this morning so wishing he were on to parse Biden's speech and comment on the issues of the day.
