Have you ever seen it at these extremes before? I haven’t and its gone too far. That buffoon is calling for war and he’ll get it.

They definitely want to goad some “MAGA Republican” into committing an act of terror before the midterms to keep control of Congress.

Likely there are feds gaslighting some mentally unbalanced individual into carrying out an attack at this very moment.

The media had the American people convinced that it was Trump causing all of this division Trump is GONE now YET the division goes on BECAUSE the Dems have been causing it all along HOPEFULLY the American people with an ounce of common sense will see this AND realize just how screwed up the economy and country are now while the division goes on!

You are correct in the stigmatization of opponents. The level of raw hate has only before appeared in the election of 1800 and again in the period 1855 to 1861. Ralph Waldo Emerson routinely spewed hatred of the white people of the South comparing to savages and Apaches. Congressman Giddings from Astabula, Ohio regularly, on the floor of the House called for exterminating slave uprisings. Theodore Weld, after 20 years of abolitionist preaching publicly stated what he was preaching had amounted to hatred of the white people of the South, not hatred of slavery, and as such this was evil and he left the pulpit. Such bloody minded sanctimoniousness has great risks and things never conceived can come about. Emerson, after the first year or so of the war was silent on the subject and he never spoke much about it again. Emerson public appearances mostly became recitations. He generally concluded these with Timrod’s ‘Ode to the Confederate Dead’; a beautiful but hauntingly melancholy piece of poetry that commemorates a sense of loss that will never end and of which there can be, in this world, no surcease. It is to be hoped this will not be replayed in our future.

Hardly wonderful. He just looked competent for a change. Most Amerians still pick football over politics. In that sense, it is a healthy and normal choice. Those whose religion is politics worship the modern Baal-Jupiter.
