The city leaders including the Levee Board lined their pockets with local. state and Federal dollars provided to maintain the levee system. And GW Bush was blamed for the disaster because he failed to react as quickly as the local “victims” wanted him to.
Segue to Jackson, Mississippi, seventeen years later. Like the levees in NOLA, maintenance and modernization of the waste water treatment system of Jackson, ignored for years, finally fails. Who could possibly be to blame? Certainly not the Democrats who ruled the City for decades and were totally in charge of the distribution of financial resources.
