At the same time, in an attempt to ensure the advancement of saboteurs, the Armed Forces of Ukraine strike at Energodar. NATO weapons are used. These are the M777 howitzers and the Hymars MLRS. The saboteurs themselves use mortars, including 60 mm caliber.
Once again, open cynicism reigns in the Ukrainian media with messages in the style: “Russian helicopters have appeared over Energodar and are striking at residential areas.” From these reports, the approximate plan of the enemy is clear - to try to reach residential areas in any number, there, according to the Mariupol version, to gain a foothold and organize firing points. Whether it will be possible then to break through to the ZNPP or not, is not the main thing for the enemy. The main thing is to do everything to prevent the IAEA mission from reaching the nuclear power plant. In arguably the most embarrassing debacle of the war yet for Ukraine, they apparently permitted themselves to attempt an MI6-designed and directed commando operation to seize the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
The would-be commandos, 64 in number, recently “trained” in the UK, set out across the Kakhovskoye reservoir in seven high-speed boats, landed on the opposite shore 3 km from the NPP, where they were immediately met by a Russian ambush.
Apparently Russian intelligence was fully aware of their plans and had monitored the debutante commandos from the time they left Poland to pursue their ostensibly glorious operation – allegedly advocated by the corpulent Boris Johnson himself in his recent visit to Kiev.
Of the 64 “commandos”, at least 47 are now dead, a few wounded, and a dozen trapped with no means of escape, all seven of their boats having been destroyed.
The entire undertaking has been an unmitigated amateurish disaster.

The folks running the Ukrainian side of the war are absolute fools. Want to launch an offensive? Better make sure to telegraph it for months before you strike. Want to prove to the world you are not shelling a nuclear power plant? Best to send in commandos during the visit of international inspectors.
Honestly one could not run a war worse than the Ukrainian officials are right now……. Well maybe Biden and our current civilian/military leadership could. I hope we will not find out.
I understand the initial assault was with 64 commandos in seven speed boats smack into a Russian ambush. 49 commandos KIA. 3 captured, and I don’t know about the others. Barges with 400 more commandos were sunk in middle of river by Russian air force with 320 known lost. This was a major, major loss of Ukraine’s finest fighters.
