Experts say the new report raises more questions that answers after the Times confirms previous Turkish reports a Canadian intelligence agent helped Begum get into Syria
When news broke that the United Kingdom authorities helped cover up Canada's role in trafficking Shamina Begum to Syria as a teenager, British academic Rizwaan Sabbir, who focuses on counter-terrorism, said he was not surprised.
On Tuesday, news reports suggested Scotland Yard was informed that Begum and her two friends were trafficked into Syria by a smuggler who was a double agent working both for the Islamic State group and Canadian intelligence.
But instead of using that intelligence to find Begum and her friends, the reports suggest Britain helped Canada cover up its role.
Canada recruited Mohammed al-Rasheed, a human trafficker, when he reportedly applied for asylum at the Canadian embassy in Jordan, and he is believed to have helped dozens more Britons and organised the travel of people into Syria...

Canadian intelligence works with which country's intelligence agency?
I have sincerely believed that the USA had something to do with ISIS just like the USA helped to ignite the jihadist revolt against Assad in Syria to begin with before ISIS emerged.
ISIS came into the picture after Iran and Russia shored up Assad several years into the jihadist revolt.
Maybe they were the "second wave" from US and allied intelligence agencies to fight Assad?
speaking of spies, this is exclusively in Murdoch’s The Australian newspaper today...behind paywall. if anyone can access it, please excerpt it. how truthful it is, who knows? it refers to stuff written in a book which I can’t find online as yet.
