Jimi Hendrix opened for the Monkees back in 1967 if you can believe it. It was not a good fit and the Monkees issued a fake press release blaming the cancellation of Hendirx on the DAR. :-)

The Monkees had this pop image and all but they were doing drugs with the rest of them so that may why the FBI was watching them. Who knows?
